The General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR
Introduction

The implementation of the Data Protection Act in 1998 was the impetus for the most significant changes to data protection legislation in the United Kingdom. In 2016, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was implemented, and businesses had until May 25, 2018, to achieve complete compliance. There won't be a grace period; the Regulation went into full effect on May 25, and there will be severe consequences for non-compliance.
